“Maybe the journey isn’t so much about becoming anything. Maybe it’s about un-becoming everything that isn’t really you, so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place.” -Paulo Coelho
We're the Richardson-Meyers
Sometimes, we need to take a leap to see how we’ll land. Our family of four is doing just that. We’ve parted ways with our home and most of our possessions to find deeper connections with ourselves, each other, and nature.
Hitting the Reset button on life
After my (Amanda’s) mom passed away relatively quickly, a chain of realizations occurred that resulted in me persuading my lovely husband, John, that it was time for us to try something new.
I wanted to make my long held desire to live abroad with my family a reality. No longer was I content waiting for “some day” to pursue this dream.
After many months of discussion, John agreed to take the leap.
This leap involved selling the house & most of the things, starting off with a cross US road trip, and then eventually ending up living in Costa Rica for a period of time.
It’s a journey to discover what happens when we let go of our things and comforts and have more time to spend together, all the while experiencing new cultures and adventures.
Through this process, we hope to come out the other side with deepened connections to what it is we value in life, and then, to build the life aligned with those values.
